In a bizarre incident on Monday afternoon, a red Ford Falcon ute drove through the Gippsland Centre Sale Shopping Centre in Sale causing considerable damage.
Shoppers and retail workers were left shaken by the events at about 3.40pm, which saw the vehicle enter through the glass doors of the Cunningham Street entrance, next to popular Burrito Bar, before driving through the shopping centre and exiting through the Coles entry and heading towards Macarthur Street.
Thankfully nobody was injured in the incident, which saw shoppers scurrying to safety.
Both entrances were blocked off to the public as a crime scene, but reopened on Tuesday.
A man was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
