This Sunday, one of the great local events, the Eagle Point Triathlon is being held on the banks of Lake King.
The event, run by the Rivieria Triathlon Club has a class and race for everyone, with racing beginning from 8am.
Blessed with its peaceful surrounds in the sleepy town of Eagle Point, the location is idyllic for a triathlon event.
The transition is situated on the beautiful shores of Lake King and only for a few sections of the bike ride do you lose sight of the magnificent waterway.
The fun tri will open the racing, followed by the sprint distance championships, with both the fun tri and sprint tri courses including a U-shaped swim, loop on the bike and a flat lakeside run.
The fun tri individual and team event will set the tone, with a 200 metre swim, 10 kilometre cycle and 2500 metre run on the menu.
The sprint individual and team will commence at 9am, with 500 metre swim, 20 kilometre cycle and five kilometre run.
The final events will be for the kids, with two distances on offer from 10.30am.
Both raced in the safe and well marshalled environment of the local caravan park.
One course has a 25 metre swim, one kilometre bike ride and 500 metre run, with the other featuring a 75 metre swim, three kilometre bike ride and one kilometre run.
Check in and race day registration will be available from 7am, with the racing conducted under the Triathlon Australia Race Competition Rules.
Many Rivieria Triathlon Club members took part in multi sport events last weekend.
A number of members competed in the fourth stage of the 2XU series in Sandringham in both the Olympic and sprint distances.
