Ken and Juliet Eckersley, proprietors of the Nicholson River Winery, last Thursday hosted the launch of the proposed East Gippsland business awards to be held, COVID restrictions pending, at the Bairnsdale RSL on Thursday, November 18.
King and Heath funded the launch at the winery, with limited numbers of the business community attending, members of local business associations, councillors and shire staff.
Mayor Cr Mendy Urie outlined the awards program, events and timeline leading to the award evening that is historically a great night out for East Gippsland businesses.
The shire has been fortunate to secure the support for the event from Federation University and Wendy Wright, Dean of Graduate Studies at the university, attended the launch representing Gippsland’s tertiary institution.
This year the shire is running the awards and the Mayor in her address encouraged businesses from across East Gippsland to enter.
