St Mary’s Op Shop will mark a major milestone this Saturday as it celebrates its 10th birthday with a community celebration featuring a sausage sizzle, clothing sale and a raffle with a Hisense Smart TV up for grabs.
Festivities kick off at 10am at the shop, with locals and visitors alike invited to join in the fun and take advantage of the bargain buys.
Clothing will be available at half price, making it a perfect opportunity to pick up some quality pieces while supporting
a great cause.
The celebration also provides an opportunity to thank the dedicated team behind St Mary’s Op Shop.
The management team and tireless volunteers – many of whom have been involved since the very beginning – are the backbone of the shop’s success.
Some volunteers generously give their time three to four days each week.
Gratitude is also extended to the shop’s generous donors, whose contributions have created a rich and varied stock of quality clothing and goods, and to the loyal customers who keep coming back – whether they’re regulars or just passing through, everyone plays a part.
Thanks to this ongoing support, St Mary’s Op Shop has been able to give back significantly to the community.
Over the years, it has supported organisations including St Vincent De Paul Welfare, Steers for Students Tertiary Bursaries, Prostate Cancer Research, the Starlight Foundation, and has provided local assistance whenever the need has arisen.
Beyond its charitable impact, the shop plays a key role in sustainability. Donated goods are recycled, repaired, or even repurposed.
Cotton clothing that’s no longer wearable is turned into clean rags for motor trades and other industries – helping reduce the volume of clothing sent to landfill across Australia each year.
Whether you’re on the hunt for a unique piece of jewellery, a good book, a quirky antique, or simply looking to lend a hand, St Mary’s Op Shop welcomes everyone.
