Fire may have razed the region almost two years ago, but in the ashes it left communities have found the strength to rally together.
On Sunday, the Sarsfield Community Association ran a Bushfire Resilience Expo that aimed to ensure locals were learning to live with fire.
Sarsfield Community Association president, Simon Hof, said about 450 people attended the Sarsfield Recreation Reserve, with the day including entertainment as well as rolling presentations inside the hall.
“The information that was presented is still relevant and helpful two years on,” Mr Hof said.
He said while 80 houses were burnt or condemned in Sarsfield, just 18 to 20 are built or in the process of being built, and many of the companies at the expo had great ideas and technologies for homes.
