The Bairnsdale Golf Club ladies foursomes championships were decided last week, with rounds played on Wednesday and Friday at Eagle Point.
The event was played in contrasting weather and attracted a field of 76, Wednesday’s rain making scoring difficult, while Friday’s perfect conditions saw the leaders challenged.
The open championship was won by Nadine Martin and Chrissy Fisher, who carded rounds of 85 and 91, for an impressive total of 176.
In the silver section the winners were Anne Crowe and Alison Gilbert (192), while
the bronze winners were Ruth Engel and Lesley Avery (225).
In the daily events, the “A” grade winners on Wednesday were Kristy Hellessey and Carolyn Hine, with Denise Lessels and Carol Watson successful in “B” grade, with Engel and Avery leading the way in “C” grade.
On Friday, “A” grade went to Sue Gannon and Sue Ffrench, with “B” grade taken out by Gilbert and Crowe, with Elaine Crawford and Kerry Hine successful in “C” grade.
