Regrowth intense following bushfires

5 January 2022
in Local News

It’s two years since the Black Summer bushfires raged through the forests of East Gippsland.
At Clifton Creek, about 20 kilometres north-east of Bairnsdale, the 40 hectare native forest property of the Hermans family was completely burnt when fire raced through in the final days of December 2019.
Wiped out in the fire were an incalculable number of large mature trees.
John Hermans says the regrowth following the fires is at levels never before seen in 40 years when it last burnt.
