Local 15-year-old dancer Iris Miller, from Jan Pianta School of Dance (JPSD), received two awards at the Diamond Dance Challenge competition held in Dandenong in April.
Iris took out first place for her jazz solo, winning the 12 years and under 15 jazz championship and honourable mention for a contemporary solo.
Iris performed beautifully with high energy and style and to her surprise, was awarded the Diamond Dance Challenge, best costume design for her jazz costume.

Iris performed again in April at the Follow Your Dreams Dance Competition in Morwell and received first place for all three solos performed – 12 years and under 15 section for jazz, lyrical and contemporary.
Alongside these fabulous wins, Iris was also fortunate to have received a $600 dollar voucher for a make-up and hair pamper session with Hoffa Studios.
Melbourne-based dance adjudicator Tanya Attard, is seen with Iris and her awards, from Follow Your Dreams stating “she loved the dance work she witness from Iris”.
