Lucknow "A" grade defender Meg Bryan leaps to deflect a pass into the Lakes Entrance goal ring during last Saturday's match at Lakeside Oval in round 10 of the East Gippsland Football Netball League. The Magpies overcame a challenging Seagulls side, triumphing 45-35.

Stratford and Boisdale Briagolong played a thrilling match in round 10 of the East Gippsland netball, the Swans rallying late to win by two goals.

Played at Boyd Reserve in Stratford, the momentum in the match see-sawed, the lead changing numerous times, the Swans thankful to be in front when the final whistle sounded in a match that could have gone either way.

Despite the victory, Stratford dropped from second to third on the ladder, sitting just below second-placed Wy Yung by minimal percentage.

The Bombers are now four points further back in fourth spot.

Lucknow continued on its winning way, though the Magpies were surprisingly pushed by Lakes Entrance before triumphing 45-35.

Wy Yung was too slick at home for Lindenow, winners convincingly by 31 goals, 52-21.

Kate Eigner was a standout for the Tigers, while Claudia Blandford and Alana Websdale battled hard for the Cats.

Orbost Snowy Rovers outclassed Paynesville in the other match by 60 goals, 80-20.

Hayley Boxall and Jewel Catlin were in sensational touch for the Blues, Darcie Garth, Paige Strickland and Teneill Walker gallant for the Gulls.

In this week’s matches, the Bombers and Wy Yung will clash in the match of the round at the Cabbage Patch, victory vital for Boisdale if it is to keep the double chance dream alive.

Lakes Entrance is at home to a winless Paynesville, the Seagulls keen to build on their solitary season victory.

Lucknow is at home to Lindenow, while Stratford will make the long trek to Orbost.
