Bairnsdale Squash and Racquetball Association recently conducted its mid-year finals.
In the “A” grade section Hayden Andrews faced off against Zara Wilkins, with both starting nervously.
Andrews held his nerve to prevail and take victory.
In the “B” grade finale it was two old rivals who played off, Kaiden Lancaster doing battle with Flynn Leonti.
This time time it was Lancaster’s turn to take victory.
Several players were also presented with their ‘Ready to Play” medallions. This is presented to players who understand the rules/game play, are ready for full length matches, can rally, serve
and score.
The recipients of these medallions were Zadie, Amelia Ciaglia, Chelsea Erickson and Chad Golding.
The association will again be running its Racquet Rebels after school program in term three on Wednesdays from 4-5.30pm for kids aged six to 16.
This term they will be increasing the lesson structure to help new players build skills and give returning kids a clear path to progress.
Each week it will cover a different aspect of the game all while delivering it in a fun game-based way.
There will be fun sessions, suitable for all abilities with a skill-building focus, with something new learnt each week.
