Tambo Honey has a new home, right in the heart of Bruthen’s main street.
Ben and Stacey Murphy opened their new shop come cafe last week.
The couple owned a vacant parcel of land in Bruthen and had been toying with “what to do with it” when they hatched a plan to build a shop that would house their honey supplies and also serve as a cafe.
“We were inspired by Beechworth Honey,” Mr Murphy said, explaining that its shop front in the main street of Beechworth draws many visitors.
“We thought if they can do this maybe we can in Bruthen and make it a tourist attraction.”
The Murphys have 12 varieties of their Tambo Honey proudly on display and much like a winery, visitors to the shop are able to sample each of them before choosing a tub to take home.
“It’s very similar to wine tasting,” Mr Murphy said.
“We can take you through the journey of honey tasting.”
