Talented local sportsman, Bayden Ashwood will return to the ring on Saturday night on the Wildfighter RNDX card, after a three-year boxing hiatus.
Ashwood will fight Melbourne-based welterweight, Jack Stevens, on former local boxer turned promoter, Will Tomlinson’s milestone 10th fight night to be held at the Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre (BARC).
Ashwood who has played in six East Gippsland Football Netball League (EGFNL) premierships hasn’t fought since drawing with Brody Tutta in October 2019 at the BARC, in a fight that most people remember as the fight of the night.
“It was never my intention to be out of the ring for so long, I had five fights cancelled over COVID – thought I would never get back in the ring,” Ashwood said.
