Bairnsdale Neighbourhood House has recognised a remarkable milestone this month, as its beloved manager, Leanne Jennings, celebrates 30 years of dedicated service to the community.
Since first stepping into the role three decades ago, Leanne has been the driving force behind the house evolution’s from a small community hub to a vital multifaceted centre of support and connection.
She has spanned an era of immense change, from a time when finances were meticulously recorded in a handwritten ledger to navigating the digital revolution of computers and the internet.
Leanne’s legacy is built on a series of visionary achievements, spearheading a successful initiative together with partnerships that secured funding for screen-printing equipment, creating a hands-on program to engage at-risk youth and teach them tangible skills.
They managed to create printed scarves and ties, their work gained significant recognition with items beings presented in the Victoria Parliament, a proud moment that highlighted the talent and potential within the local community.
Leanne was instrumental in establishing the Bairnsdale Neighbourhood House and is dedicated to fostering community spirit and providing support for residents through various programs.
