Local boxing star, Blake “Bomber” Wells is set to return to the ring on December 17 at the ICC Sydney Theatre.
It’s set to be an explosive night of world-class boxing as Tim Tszyu returns to the ring taking on undefeated American Anthony Velazquez in a must-see showdown.
Backing him up is a stacked undercard featuring Sam Goodman and Callum Peters, two of Australia’s most exciting rising stars set to deliver fireworks before the main event.
Wells (12 wins, 2 losses) will take on Quinton Smith (two wins, one loss) in one of the preliminary bouts.
Wells’ return comes off the back of the announcement last week that another local star, Max Reeves, will return to the ring on January 16 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on one of the most anticipated boxing cards in Australian boxing history.
Reeves will fight on the undercard of the undefeated Nikita Tszyu and long-time rival Michael Zerafa, in a fight, several years in the making and one that will cap months of slander and trash talk, the boxers agreeing to a catchweight bout at 71.5 kilograms.
Wells hasn’t been seen in the ring since April 25, when he beat the highly rated Andrei Mikhailovich in Newcastle, his fifth consecutive victory.
Smith, a middleweight has been successful in his last two outings in Queensland after being defeated on his professional debut.
As impressive as his recent efforts are, he faces a huge task overcoming the experienced and super fit Wells, who is looking for a huge 18 months in the ring to establish himself among Australia’s best.
Boxing is all about opportunity, and Wells is keen to grasp those chances and make every post a winner.
