Lindenow Football Netball Club has secured one of the region’s most promising young talents, announcing the signing of Jake Richards for the 2026 season.
Richards arrives at the Cats with an impressive football pedigree. A former Gippsland Power and Vic Country under-16 representative, he also gained senior experience in the Gippsland League in 2022 before making his mark at Lucknow.
His 2025 season was his strongest yet, finishing inside the top five of the Magpies’ senior best and fairest count.
Widely regarded as one of the competition’s most exciting emerging players, the forward/ruck has shown outstanding development over recent years. Richards has played 45 senior games across the past three seasons, kicking 60 goals. His 2025 campaign was particularly productive, booting 36 majors from 17 matches.
Lindenow says it is “incredibly excited” to welcome Richards, confident his skill, pace and game sense will inject a significant boost into the club’s senior group.
The Cats believe Richards will play a key
role in guiding and strengthening their youthful list as they continue to build towards sustained success.
