Bairnsdale City Taxis is celebrating a significant milestone this week, marking five years of operation and service to the East Gippsland community.
Since its establishment, the company has positioned itself as a vital transport link, particularly for the town’s elderly and disabled residents.
Owner and director Laddi Singh said the business was driven by a desire to fix reliability issues in the local market.
“We are glad to be serving the local community with the help of Safe Transport Victoria,” Mr Singh said.
“There was a significant gap in providing services to disabled people in town, and we received many calls and complaints about not getting picked up on time.
“Addressing these concerns has been a priority for us.”
To bridge this gap, the fleet now includes three wheelchair-accessible taxis.
The company offers free rides to passengers holding W/C and MPTP W/C scooter cards, a service that has amounted
to nearly $173,060 in value over the past
five years.
In addition to accessibility support, the
taxi service has focused on community rewards.
Through its loyalty card program, which offers a $10 discount on every
10th trip, the business has provided approximately $71,260 in discounts to
local commuters.
Mr Singh thanked the Bairnsdale community for their trust and support, pledging to continue enhancing accessibility and convenience for all passengers in the years to come.
