Bairnsdale Relay for Life’s 15th celebration was a major success last Saturday.
Raising funds for Cancer Council Australia, the relay returned to Lucknow Recreation Reserve following three years of COVID-enforced cancellations.
More than 300 people in more than 25 teams took part, all helping to get within touching distance of the goal $50,000. As of yesterday more than $46,000 had been raised and there is still four weeks until fundraising closes.
Organiser, Yvette Westfield, was thrilled the relay could return and couldn’t be happier with the support.
“Over the 15 years of the relay we have raised more than $750,000 which is just a huge effort from the people and businesses in our community,” she said.
