The Bairnsdale Art Society, on the corner of Hodgson and Anderson streets, Bairnsdale is opening its doors for anyone who’d like to try their hand at art this Saturday, March 25, between 10am and 2pm with four tutors on hand to get you started.
President Gael Rand said it’s a free event with all art materials provided.
“We encourage the public to come in and have a try,” she said.
The tutors demonstrating and teaching are renowned local artists Margaret Lomas (water colours), Barbara Jones (oil painting), Jan Fregon (pastel painting) and Trish Wagstaff (coloured pencil art).
“It’s a unique opportunity to receive expert guidance. Art is such a fulfilling hobby, stress free and relaxing. And believe it or not, anyone can be “taught” to draw and paint,” Gael said.
No bookings are necessary and it’s free of charge. The arts society is the largest community art group in East Gippsland and holds low cost art classes every weekday.
