Moe trained galloper, Delightful Journey, won last Sunday’s $70,000 Bairnsdale Cup at the outrageous odds of $61 for trainer Christine Sexton and veteran jockey Sally Wynne.
A healthy crowd was on course, including former Brownlow Medalist, Robert Dipierdo-meico and 17 time group one winning jock-ey, Simon Marshall, who were guests of the Bairnsdale Racing Club (BRC).
Delightful Journey was friendless in betting markets in 1600 metre BRC autumn featuure and after beginning well was quickly rolling along out in front, opening a winning break on straight, running out a comfortable winner over the locally-owned Starspangled Baby ($6) and Cranbourne-trained Humboshi ($10).
