After a successful debut last year, the Phoenix Singers community choir is kicking off 2026 with exciting plans to continue catering for both experienced vocalists and those new to choral singing. Under the guidance of director Kim Green, the choir has met the challenge of providing music that is both satisfying and suitably challenging for all members.
This year, Kim will be working with the group to develop a repertoire for upcoming community performances, building on the strong harmonies and pleasing depth created by the combination of male and female voices. Many new singers, including those with little or no previous choral experience, have been delighted by their rapid development and the joy of performing complex harmonies.
The choir committee has also retained evening rehearsal times at the Hub, making it accessible for working adults and school-based community members who want to participate after hours. Several singers are also involved in other choirs, reflecting a shared passion for singing, and many have described Phoenix Singers as the highlight of their week.
New members are welcome to attend and try the choir without commitment. The first rehearsal of 2026 will be held at 7pm on Thursday, 4 February, in Room 7 at the Hub on Dalmahoy Street, Bairnsdale.
For anyone looking to join a welcoming community choir, Phoenix Singers offers
the perfect opportunity to sing, learn, and perform.
