Former AFL superstar Dane Swan is set to suit up for Paynesville Football Netball Club this season in the East Gippsland Football Netball League.
The five-time All-Australian, Brownlow medallist and AFL Hall of Fame member will pull on the boots on Saturday, May 9, when the Gulls host Stratford in round four action.
It won’t be Swan’s first clash with the Swans, having previously taken them on in 2021 during a one-off game for Lucknow Football Netball Club.
Swan retired from the AFL in 2016 after a stellar career spanning 258 games and 211 goals, leaving behind a legacy of unforgettable moments. In retirement, he has continued to delight crowds with one-off appearances for clubs across Australia.
Paynesville is promising a huge day for Swan’s return to East Gippsland, aiming to lift spirits on and off the field and offer an exclusive VIP experience for fans. More details will be released by the club in the coming weeks.
