Teenager Angus Tanner ran a personal best while leading the field at last Saturday’s Bairnsdale parkrun.
In his 220th attempt of the five-kilometre course along the Mitchell River, Tanner crossed the line in 19 minutes eight seconds.
He was part of a large field of 114 participants, including 10 first-timers, while 16 runners achieved personal bests.
Paige Burrows (22.18) was the first female finisher, with runners and walkers taking to the course for fitness, fun, and camaraderie.
Other personal bests were recorded by John Theodore (23.39), Julia Goh (23.39), Sujin Gu (24.22), Emma Klein (25.00), Adam Dean (26.14), Bec Voss (28.02), Jaxson Weeks (30.59), Ashlie Weeks (31.25), Kelly Lancaster (32.18), Ayla Seymour (32.32), Ethan Ashworth (35.37), Jaxen Ross (36.01), Lehland Crawford (37.30), Annie Park (37.46), Robbie Hebbard (40.30) and Shellie Ricardo (40.30).
Clubs represented included Riviera Triathlon Club, East Gippsland Runners, Traralgon Harriers and HIIT Factory.
The event was supported by volunteers Anne Cordero, Pam George, Lina Jung, Ricky Papenburg, Ethan Sanderson, Grant Sanderson, Emma-Lee Still and Terri Tanner.
The Bairnsdale parkrun starts at 8 am every Saturday and welcomes participants of all abilities.
