East Gippsland Shire Council has received a strong response to this year’s Community Impact Grants program, with local groups submitting a wide range of projects focused on strengthening communities and supporting environmental sustainability.
Applications for the 2025 grants were open from October 1 to 31, with 36 applications received, seeking a total Council contribution of $461,595.55 for projects valued at $811,594.55.
Funding is available through the program in amounts ranging from $3,001 to $20,000 for projects that deliver meaningful outcomes for local communities or the environment.
Mayor Jodie Ashworth said the high level of interest reflected the passion and commitment of community groups across East Gippsland.
“Community groups are at the heart
of what makes East Gippsland such a
strong and connected region,” Cr Ashworth said.
“These grants help turn great local
ideas into reality – whether that’s
improving facilities, protecting the environment, or creating new opportunities for people to get involved, while also addressing immediate community needs and supporting long-term growth and social inclusion.”
