At the recent Bairnsdale Racing Club’s 2026 Cup meeting, hard working chairman, Greg Beadle was rewarded with life membership.
Beadle has served as chairman of the club for more than 11 years, and well before that he was a dedicated committee member, as always willing to give his time and energy.
Beadle’s love of racing runs deep, and he is a big advocate for country racing and the role that clubs like Bairnsdale play in the industry.
He makes sure that the club is part of every conversation at industry events, and he never misses a chance to push their case at every metro and country race meeting he attends.
Beadle works closely, sometimes daily, with the staff and committee, and he is always bringing ideas and ways to promote the club and get their name out into the broader community.
Fellow committee members describe him as a forward thinker, who has played a huge role in keeping the club moving in the right direction.
Always the first to arrive at a working bee, Beadle is very good with a gurney, a paint brush and a broom – and he works way more efficiently when given a strong latte – or if it’s in the afternoon a nice cold beer.
An important aspect of Beadle’s philosophy is that the Bairnsdale Racing Club is all about community, and he is a strong believer in the club’s role in East Gippsland through both racing and community events – something that the club is working hard at promoting at every opportunity.
Beadle was joined on the day by his wife, Wendy, son Ryan and his wife Rose, as the club celebrated his anointment as a life member, a fitting reward for his passion for racing and for the club.
