Mall of magpie droppings

25 July 2023
in Local News

Well-known Bairnsdale resident, businessman and self proclaimed ‘Mayor of the Mall’, Anthony Scott, was yesterday captured by the Advertiser, on his 60th birthday, sitting bravely among a heap of magpie droppings.
Mr Scott, and what traders are left in the mall vicinity, are disappointed in the consistently sad and sorry state of the mall.
Mr Scott told the Advertiser the Nicholson Street Mall has been in a constant state of neglect, as can be seen by the alarming number of magpie droppings and generally untidy environment.
“Surely the coating of magpie droppings would constitute a health hazard for ratepayers and councillors themselves,” he said.
Mr Scott did suggest approaching the fire brigade to test their hoses on a Saturday morning each week to wash away the droppings and also pipe music to the mall to relax citizens who are game enough to rest there.
