Nicholson Angling Club staged round three of its 2026 seasonal competition over the Easter long weekend, with 121 bream caught and released.
Once again, the club’s younger anglers were to the fore, led by Kade Nickless, who landed the biggest bream at 41 centimetres. Flynn McKenzie found a productive spot and caught the
biggest string, measuring a total of 187.5 centimetres.
The longest bream caught by a woman was landed by Airene Elosendo (40cm), while Liam Smith (40cm) took the top spot on regular bait. Several other species were recorded, with Darren Dennys claiming the largest overall fish—a 73-centimetre flathead. Wayne Salmon caught the longest surf fish, a 22.5-centimetre salmon.
In the junior sections, the under 16 winner was Harper Clark (34cm), and Xander Whibley (32cm) took out the under 12 category.
Secret length winners included Hamish Ellis, Levi Fox, Israel McQuillan, Jeff Pilbeam, and Michael Rodrick.
The next competition will be held this weekend at the Bemm River.
