Community groups across East Gippsland are turning local ideas into action, thanks to the latest round of Council Community Impact Grants.
The program provides funding from $3001 to $20,000 for projects that strengthen towns, connect communities, and support environmental sustainability.
Last week, council officers visited the Omeo District to celebrate successful grants. The Lake Omeo Committee of Management received $9059 to drought-proof the Omeo Lake and Benambra Residence, while the Swifts Creek Recreation Reserve Committee of Management was awarded $4250 to install a dishwasher and meet food handling standards.
Deputy Mayor Cr Tom Crook, Cr Sonia Buckley and CEO Fiona Weigall congratulated both groups on their initiatives.
