The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that supports young Australians experiencing disadvantage to build better futures through the power of education.
In Bairnsdale, the VIEW Club currently sponsors 20 students through The Smith Family’s “Learning for Life” program and says it is proud to contribute to improving educational
opportunities for young people in
the community.
To help continue this support, the Bairnsdale VIEW Club will host a Mother’s Day Market on Saturday, May 9, from 8.30am to 2pm at the Lucknow Memorial Hall, 105 Great Alpine Road.
Stalls will include a range of homemade cakes and slices, handcrafted goods and gifts, floral arrangements and plants, as well as a Mother’s Day raffle. A coffee van will also be on site for morning refreshments.
Club members are encouraging the community to attend and support the fundraising effort, which directly benefits the students
they sponsor.
VIEW is a national women’s organisation and support network, and the largest community sponsor of students in The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program. With more than 14,000 members across 280 communities, VIEW
Clubs support the education of around 1800 students nationally.
