The Community Bank Paynesville has returned a further $120,000 to the local community through its 2025–26 Community Investment Program, supporting a wide range of projects across sport, community services and local events.
The latest round of sponsorships and grants will assist organisations throughout Paynesville and surrounding areas, helping strengthen local programs and facilities.
Among the recipients, the Paynesville Lions Club will receive support for a community trailer, while the Paynesville Football and Netball Club will boost its junior football program.
The Paynesville Cricket Club has been funded to support its juniors and women’s programs, and The Floating Tin Shed will deliver its summer music program with assistance from the bank.
Community and cultural initiatives also feature strongly, with the Koala Island Foundation receiving funding for its digital Koala Trail app, and the Bairnsdale Citizens Band supported for the Paynesville Christmas Carols.
Other recipients include the Paynesville Bowling Club for junior bowls and a synthetic green upgrade, and the Paynesville Country Women’s Association for its girls’ program.
Local infrastructure and community wellbeing projects have also been backed, including the Paynesville Neighbourhood Centre for a childcare sunshade and the Eagle Point Community Hall for replacement windows.
At Newlands Arm, the CoastCare Group will receive a ride-on mower, while the Residents and Ratepayers Association has been funded for sporting equipment and a half-size basketball court.
Community events and traditions will also benefit, with the Paynesville RSL supported for its ANZAC Day Gunfire Breakfast, the Paynesville Sea Scouts for Australia Day awards, and the Paynesville Golf Club for its Jack Attack competition.
The funding round takes total community investment by the bank to more than $1.37 million over the past 20 years since its establishment in Paynesville.
Community Bank Paynesville said the program continues to demonstrate the impact of local banking, with profits reinvested directly into community initiatives and infrastructure.
Residents interested in supporting the program are encouraged to bank locally or contact the branch via phone to learn more about its community investment initiatives.
