The Paynesville waterfront has once again been a focal point of summer activity, with the Floating Tin Shed delivering a season of live music, entertainment and community events that brought locals and visitors together on the water’s edge.
Across the summer, a diverse lineup of performers helped create a vibrant atmosphere, ranging from relaxed acoustic sets through to high-energy, dance-worthy shows. Featured acts included the Damon Smith Trio, George & Noriko, Ally Row, Geoff Achison, Jan Preston, Miss Lizzy and the Night Owls, Mojo Jacket and DJ Holly.
Seasonal highlights also included family-friendly events such as the Easter Bunny appearances and the HIIT Factory Colour Run, adding to a program designed to cater for all ages.
The Floating Tin Shed also played host to fireworks displays, including the New Year’s Eve celebration, which lit up the Paynesville waterfront and drew strong crowds to the town as families, friends and visitors welcomed in the new year together.
Organisers said the events continue to provide more than entertainment, strengthening community connection, supporting local tourism and showcasing Paynesville as a key destination during the summer season.
They also acknowledged the vital role of sponsors in ensuring the program could go ahead, particularly for major events such as live music nights and the New Year’s Eve fireworks, including major sponsor Paynesville Community Bank, as well as R&M Engineering, Colmac Homes, Peter Dullard Ford, Encore Living and Mariners Cove Motel and Apartments, Crowther & Sadler, Paynesville Hotel, SS Auto and Paynesville Lions Club.
A special acknowledgement was given to Ritchies IGA Paynesville, with organisers noting that customers who sign up to the Community Benefits program can nominate the Floating Tin Shed as their chosen recipient.
The Tin Can and Bottle recycling scheme also continues to support the initiative, raising more than $15,000 over the past year through collection points at Luckes Fresh Food Market, Slip Road and Paynesville Car Wash.
Organisers thanked all performers, sponsors, volunteers and attendees, saying community support remains central to keeping the Floating Tin Shed program running each season.
