Bairnsdale-based mortgage broker, Robert Trewin, recently visited the Boston Children’s Hospital to see some of the research being done into Sudden and Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC), which tragically took the life of his son, Cooper, in 2010.
Following Cooper’s death, the Cooper Trewin Memorial SUDC Research Fund was founded to conduct lifesaving research and advocacy into the causes of the devastating condition.
To date, more than $2 million has been raised.
The Trewin’s recent trip to Boston saw them visit the laboratory and meet some of the doctors and researchers undertaking the work in Cooper’s memory.
“We could not believe the technology being employed to do the work alongside the researchers working so diligently on this,” Mr Trewin said.
“Dr Annapurna Poduri MD, Neurology was an absolute delight to meet.
