A tough season needs some tough decisions and being well informed helps that process.
At the Gippsland Agricultural Group (GAgG) Spring Field Day on October 23, there will be a plethora of answers to all sorts of questions from feed budgeting to establishing and managing dryland lucerne varieties; perennial pasture establishment and persistence; soils and cereal varieties.
Other topics include agroforestry and sheep breed varieties, including comparing lamb performance on single and multispecies pastures.
Peak Pasture and Livestock agronomist, Nicole Frost, will conduct a feed budgeting masterclass in conjunction with Valley Seeds’ Andrew Wood, an expert in ruminant nutrition, as one of the Spring Field Day sessions at the Gippsland Research Farm site on Bengworden Road.
“With a dry season forecast and tough economic conditions it’s more important than ever to have a plan in place to optimise the performance of your livestock business,” Nicole said.
