Local job seekers, career changers and residents looking to re-enter the workforce will have direct access to free, professional career guidance next month when representatives from the Skills and Jobs Centre visit
Bunnings Bairnsdale.
Advisors from the state-funded service will be stationed in-store on Friday, August 7, from 10am to 3pm, offering on-the-spot information and discussing tailored pathways for local workers at any stage of their career.
Funded by the Victorian Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions and delivered through TAFE Victoria, the Skills
and Jobs Centre operates as a free, voluntary advisory service.
The program provides one-on-one guidance to help community members identify transferable skills, draft professional resumes and cover letters, address key selection criteria and build confidence for job interviews.
Qualified career counsellors also offer personalised sessions to help individuals assess their interests and goals, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding further education, vocational training, or direct employment opportunities.
Whether residents are entering the workforce for the first time, returning after an extended break, or considering a complete career transition, advisors will be on hand to help outline the practical steps needed to achieve their goals.
