This weekend will see the best of Victoria’s downhill mountain bikers racing down the Mt Taylor Downhill track in the final round of the 2023/24 Victorian Downhill Mountain Bike Series (VDHS).
This event was rescheduled after the original dates of December 2 and 3, 2023, were cancelled due to an extreme weather event during the days leading up.
This was a great disappointment to the volunteer event organisers, but thanks to the support of the vast majority of the businesses supplying goods and services for the event, it has been able to be rescheduled.
Around 300 competitors from across Victoria and interstate will gather to compete in the technically demanding and fast-paced event that was last held at Mt Taylor in 2016. The event will attract highly skilled riders from age 12 right through to the super masters 50+ categories.
The highlight of the weekend will be the racing on Sunday afternoon which concludes with the under 19 and elite categories. Local speedsters Hudson Tarling and Bailey Telfer are among the state’s fastest juniors and will be keen to take it to the best on their home track in the highly competitive under 19s.
