Lucknow senior player, Brendan Flinn is faced with every player’s worst nightmare, with a tribunal appearance set to decide if he takes his place in the 2024 East Gippsland Football Netball League (EGFNL) grand final in 10 days’ time at Bairnsdale City Oval.
Flinn will face the tribunal tonight after being booked by two umpires on a rough conduct charge against Boisdale Briagolong senior player Shaquille Coridas.
EGFNL match review officer, Doug Vickers, offered Flinn a three-week ban, reduced to a two-week penalty with an early guilty plea after Coridas was ruled out for the remainder of the season with concussion as a result of the incident.
Lucknow Football Netball Club has decided to challenge the charge at the EGFNL tribunal in hope of clearing the way for Flinn to play in the grand final.
Flinn has been an integral part of the Magpies squad
over the past three seasons, playing 50 senior games over that period as a dynamic small forward.
