Warburton rider Andrew Haughton won the premier section of the Mount Taylor Winter Enduro last week.
The event was well attended with riders tackling four different trails, with the winner awarded after totalling up their times for the four runs.
The senior men’s event was hotly contested with Haughton and Melbourne rider Flynn McLuckie riding the fastest time for the day in two trails each.
The seven-second advantage that Haughton accumulated on the All Mountain track was enough to get him home by two seconds from McLuckie with Nicolas Bouffioux relegated to third.
Other winners included Coby Murnane (under 13 juniors), Audrey Graafsma (junior girls), Rylan Thompson (under 15 boys), Brooklyn Lucieer (under 17 boys), Ecco McLeod-Kourie (under 19 boys), Laureanne Marceau (masters female), Samantha Stephenson (senior female e-bike) and Ben Verhagen (masters male).
Mountain Bike East Gippsland was delighted with the feedback from the event from the riders, who described the event as an outstanding success.
There was a great vibe on the mountain as competitors came from all over Victoria to enjoy a quality event, against like minded people in a supportive environment.
Mountain Bike East Gippsland are looking forward to hosting two other significant events later in the year, the Rookie Cup and Victorian downhill series.
