The Bairnsdale Bullets junior basketballs squads recently participated in an elite training clinic where they got to rub shoulders with current National Basketball League star, Anzac Rissetto.
More than 60 players from across the Bullets, including 11 squad teams ranging from under 10 to under 16s took part in the special training session under the watchful eye of Crossover Basketball’s coaches, Brad Waters and John King.
The training was specifically focused on the finer details of game development to gain a competitive edge at future tournaments.
The highlight of the day was a visit by South East Melbourne Phoenix’s Rissetto who spoke to the players about his career and answered all questions the local players dished up.
The winning question was from Jack Anderson, “Anzac, do you like Anzac biscuits?”
Rissetto is a fan, and happily stayed on for the training sessions with some of the teams as well as providing some one on one coaching.
All the youngsters had a fantastic day and thrilled to have an NBL player come to Bairnsdale, such a positive and beneficial event for our community.
Crossover Basketball will be back in January with their two day camp at Maffra stadium, perfect for all skill levels.
