Get ready for the summer swim season at Bairnsdale Outdoor Pool and Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre (BARC).
As the summer heat approaches, East Gippsland Shire Council opened the Bairnsdale Outdoor Pool on Tuesday, December 26.
Previous concerns have been successfully addressed by the pool’s contractors, ensuring a smooth track to be ready for the Boxing Day opening. You can soak up the sun and enjoy a refreshing escape from the heat this summer as the season runs through to Monday, March 11, 2024.
The pool’s opening hours continue to be based on temperature triggers, which can be viewed on their website www.barcleisure.com.au.
If you’re looking for a swim program, the Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre will be kicking off the new year with not one but two fantastic swim programs.
They’ll be hosting a five-day VICSWIM program running from January 8-12.
For further details and to enrol now, make sure to visit the VICSWIM website.
Additionally, a five-day Holiday Intensive Swim Program will be held at the BARC on January 15-19.
Mayor Cr Tom Crook said both pools offer opportunities to have fun this summer.
“Many people have happy memories of their summers at the public pool, and this season should be no different. I encourage everyone to enjoy the programs and make the most of these fantastic facilities,” Cr Crook said.
The BARC Children’s Services School Holiday Activity Program will not run these school holidays.
