Gippsland Bowls Region men’s and women’s representative sides will head to Ballarat this weekend hoping to make an impression on the state scene.
The creme de la creme will be representing their region at 2024 Region Sides championships to be held over two days at the Central Wendouree Bowling Club.
Three preliminary rounds will take place this Saturday, with the finals to be played on Sunday.
The men will do battle with Ballarat Highlands, Geelong and Yarra on Saturday, with the ladies opposed to Ballarat Highlands, Metro West and Goulburn Murray.
The Gippsland side rounded off its preparation last weekend with a solid practice session hosted by the Bairnsdale Bowls Club.
The women’s side consists of Leone Flynn, Kirstie White (Stratford) Jo Martin, Rhonda Sadovsky, Margery Nathan (Paynesville), Gail McKenzie (West Sale), Julie Simic, Jan Morton (Sale), Julie Simpson (Lakes Entrance), Colleen Smith, Sharon Hall and Mary Wyndham-Smith (Bairnsdale).
The men’s side contains Brendan Addison and Brad Lancaster (Lakes Entrance) Mark Challman, Adam Easton (Paynesville), Geoff Aitken, Jarryd Sergi, Daniel Hudson, Stephen Sroczynski, Brad Montant (Bairnsdale), Nathan Stewart (West Sale), Phillip Crowder, Stephen Dare (Stratford) and Steve Brill (Lindenow).
Weekend pennant will restart on Saturday,
