Echo Bend Camping Park at Glenaladale was kept very busy with summer holiday visitors.
This unique oasis has spacious grounds for caravans, campers, rooftops, tents and swags. Many decided to go camping for Christmas. The park was nicely decorated to give the feeling of the festive season knowing that Santa would still find the little ones.
Coming away from the city and surrounds, guests could enjoy the tranquillity of the nature that surrounded them, some just relaxing, grabbing a book watching the kids play nearby. Others ventured out on into the bush for short or day long walks.
“The weather was interesting for all, especially those in tents, The rain came down the evening of Christmas day,” Echo Bend owner, Julie Webb, said.
“There is always a plus side, the Den Of Nargun and Dead Cock Den waterfalls were amazing to see. This then bought more people to the area.
“At Echo Bend there is a change over time. The Christmas holiday campers move on and a new batch of visitors come for the New Year period and remaining school holiday break, filling the camp group once again.”
Julie and Geoff Webb have been operating the camp park for 35 years and certainly know after 12 months it’s time to celebrate.
They have a small shed, called “The Stage” and invite all the campers to enjoy the entertainment.
“This year saw Sav and Michael (formerly The Lefties) entertain the campers who were able to dance and sing to end the year of 2023 and to celebrate the start of 2024. It was a chilly evening, with a number of fires pits burning and thankfully no rain,” Julie said.
“All our campers and holiday visitors were amazed how lovely and green the park was due to all the rain.”
Geoff and Julie keep a tidy, clean park and are proud of their achievement.
“We do hope more and more people come out for a drive, have a look and perhaps bring your family, friends, work mates for their next camping trip,” Julie said.
