Paynesville Community Craft Centre recently held its annual general meeting.
Members were advised that another successful trading year was capped off by donating many thousands of dollars back to the community.
The executive committee was returned for another year.
They are president Anne Day, vice president Shirley Hellyer, secretary Fiona Syme, treasurer Norma Harrison, and assistant treasurer Wyonne Siarcci.
Anne thanked all members for all their hard work over the past year in helping to keep the shop open and the displays fresh. Everyone agreed the new display shelving looks great by improving the visual appearance of the shop.
The group also gained six new members for the year.
Another successful day was held at the Paynesville Community Care Gardens by providing a stall for the residents to buy Christmas presents etc, for those who are unable to get out and about.
The group also continued to support Koalas of Raymond Island, Paynesville Ambulance Auxiliary and the Bairnsdale Regional Health Service Auxiliary by selling their craft.
Donations for the year were made to Bairnsdale Animal Aid Shelter, Bairnsdale SES, Bairnsdale View Club – Smith Family, Bairnsdale Riding for Disabled, Bairnsdale Neighbourhood House, East Gippsland Football for All Abilities, Schoolworks – Reading for Kids, Paynesville Floating Tin Shed committee, Kingfisher Dragonboat Club, Cancer Council (Paynesville Biggest Morning Tea), Paynesville CFA, Paynesville Tennis Club, Paynesville Cemetery Trust, Paynesville Neighbourhood House, BRHS – Newborn Intensive Crib, Paynesville Primary School – yearly achievement award, Eagle Point Primary School – yearly achievement award.
President Anne Day thanked everyone for their assistance over the year again and wished the members a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.
The annual general meeting was followed by a Christmas get together for the members.
“We are totally managed and staffed by volunteers with our profit donated back to the local community,” Anne said.
“A big thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last 44 years and look forward to seeing you again.”
The craft centre is located on the foreshore of Lake Victoria, Paynesville and open every day (except closed Christmas Day) from 10am to 4pm.
