The Hilltop Summer Series wrapped up with the final event being held on Saturday, January 20, 2023 – another huge success for the Buchan Motel with 50 revellers enjoying the folk, jazz and rock sounds of Raven and the Dove.
Paul and Kirstie Pearce, managers at the Buchan Motel, have been very happy with how successful the events have been over the past three weeks. It has been a great opportunity to showcase local musicians Rachel Jameson, Mitch and Pete and Raven and the Dove.
“Not only has it been an opportunity to showcase our local musos, it has also been an opportunity to showcase our local gins (Logan’s Microdistillery), beers (Red Bluff Brewers) and wines (Lightfoot and Sons),” Kirstie said.
“We are also very lucky to have some amazing businesses in our local community. The Willow Buchan Valley provided amazing grazing platters for each of our events. “Bloom Mantra provided stunning flowers, the Bakehouse Gallery provided hand-built platters for use and Jade Harper Jewellery was for sale. “Jayne Cummings from the Buchan Valley Roadhouse also brought in some beautiful sunflowers each week which really lit up the room. Sally and Matthew Benton were also helpful when we ran out of lemonade and soda water and the Buchan Caves Hotel were our back up for ice. It really highlighted how lucky Paul and I are to live in such a supportive community.”
So what is next for the Buchan Motel?
The next event will be held on Friday, February 9, Canni Canapes and Cocktails with local Band XTRA COVER playing.
“The event of Friday night should be a good lead into the festivities of the Canni Creek races,” Paul said.
“We look forward to seeing everyone frock up for the night and make a weekend of the events in Buchan.”
