The Newlands Arm Landcare Coastcare Group has been busy installing bollards along the Dinni Birraark Walk.
People walking the track between Lake Victoria Road and Dawsons Cove can now confidently access information about the distances between the four various access points.
These access points include the area near the bridge on Lake Victoria Road, the picnic shelter accessed off Birrells Road, Meridian Way and Dawsons Cove.
They will help newcomers to walk and plan the time they require to walk each section.
These bollards were prepared and installed by members of Newlands Arm Landcare Coastcare Group and were funded through a grant from Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR).
People walking the Dinni Birraark Walk are likely to see and hear a wide variety of birds and during early morning or evening wallabies may well be bounding across the track.
If you walk during a wet period you will be amazed by the vocals of the chorusing frogs.
The Dinni Birraark Walk can be re-entered at the end of Jones Road and extends to Paynesville. This is a special lakeside walk with numerous interesting features.
All the walks can be transversed in either direction This area is managed and maintained by Paynesville Landcare Group.
