Do you have a once cherished
instrument hidden away gathering dust in the cupboard or under the bed that was once a great source of entertainment for you?
Well now is the time to dust off your instrument and re-live the great times of playing in a community band.
East Gippsland Music is made up of four groups comprising of East Gippsland Brass, East Gippsland Symphonia, East Gippsland Training Band and the Bairnsdale Gentlemen’s Choir.
East Gippsland Music is holding a come and play day on Saturday, February 24, at its band room at Picnic Point Hall between 1 and 3pm followed by afternoon tea. Members from East Gippsland Symphonia, East Gippsland Brass and East Gippsland Training Band will be there to meet you.
You have probably enjoyed the music from one of these groups they have been out and about performing – maybe the recent Carols by Candlelight which East Gippsland Music was recently awarded Community Event of the Year for Bairnsdale.
The carols showcased all of groups together, putting on a great show for the
community.This is a great opportunity to head along and join in on some basic music pieces and meet fellow musicians’ who share the same passion.
All groups play at a variety of
different performances and locations around East Gippsland. They range from indoor concerts, markets, festivals and events such as The Bairnsdale Show, Opera by the Lakes, Australia Day and ANZAC Day.
The group will be at this years Paynesville’s Classic Boat Rally.
