East Gippsland Photographic Society’s February meeting will be held tonight Wednesday, February 28, at The Hub at 7pm for a 7.30 pm start.
“We have a guest judge attending to critique the members nature and open
competition,” society president Veronica Curtis said.
“Photos are shown on the large television while the judge comments and selects place getters. This is a great way to improve your photography even if you haven’t entered.
The judge will make comments on what they like about each shot and if they could be improved.
“If you are interested in photography please come along and see if you would like to join like minded members. We have interesting guest speakers every second month following a
competition. Next month we have a speaker on macro.
“The club has an outing or a weekend away each month. These are a great opportunity to get to know each other and learn from more experienced members.
“The club recently visited Strafieldsaye homestead between Bairnsdale and Stratford.
We thouroughly enjoyed the day looking through the 160-year-old homestead and
farm buildings. Everyone seemed to find something different that took their eye. We also had a big group attend the Canni Races as a social outing. Enjoying a barbecue lunch and photographing the races and entertainment.”
Next weekend the club has a marquee at the Paynesville Classic Boat Rally showing off its nautical and club photos. Members will be chatting with the public about the club and membership.
