The State Government is improving the health and wellbeing of communities across the state, through the allocation of infrastructure funding to 28 Men’s Sheds as part of the latest round of the Men’s Shed Funding Program.
Member for Eastern Victoria Tom McIntosh last week announced that Benambra was among the 28 successful recipients of the Men’s Shed Funding Program.
Benambra will receive $100,000 towards the construction of a brand new facility. It comes as the latest in a number of grants provided to Men’s Sheds by the State Government.
“The Benambra Men’s Shed will make such a difference for the local region,” Mr McIntosh said.
“It’ll provide great facilities for locals to learn new skills, contribute to the community and improve wellbeing.”
“The Benambra community is so very excited and grateful for the allocation of funding,” Benambra Neighbourhood House manager, Trudy Anderson, said
“Supporting peers, building resilience, and being self sustainable is very important to our community.”
The government has proudly provided 487 grants to Men’s Sheds since 2015, through an annual $1 million investment.
