The Maffra and District Car Club began its season recently with round one conducted at the Boisdale Hillclimb track.
A bumper field of 90 competitors took to the track, racing against the clock on the gravel hillclimb track, set in long track format.

The formula libre class, which comprise purpose built buggies, blitzed the field, with Matt Muir winning the event outright with a time of 58.12 seconds after his five runs for the day.
Son, Ozzy Muir gained the second fastest time of the day in the same buggy with 58.74 seconds, with third outright going to Matt Healy, debuting his new buggy at Boisdale, with a time of 58.86 seconds.
In the ladies’ division Lauren Britton drove extremely well to record 66 seconds to win the class, over Kristy Tormey and Natalie Mayall.
Junior drivers in the various classes also performed well, with some competing in their first race meeting.
Cooper Clutterbuck was quickest of the juniors with a time of 65.69 seconds, with Declan Howard and Riley Callow not far behind with 67.81 and 68.23 seconds respectively.
