In January, Melbourne Ministry of Dance (MOD) owner and artist director, Jason Coleman, along with dance circuit coordinator, Maverick Coleman, had the opportunity to view local dancer Alicia Worley at one of the regional workshops being held in Lakes Entrance.
During the workshop, Jason pulled Alicia aside saying she has good style and much potential, so much so that he offered Alicia a place to attend his MOD star program.
Alicia trains at Jan Pianta School of Dance (JPSD), under hip hop tutor Shaun Carr, and classical ballet, jazz, contemporary and national dance tutor, Jan Pianta.
Alicia will travel to Melbourne next week and beyond to participate in a range of entertainment and production classes, even a class for film techniques.
“Alicia works extremely hard to achieve so much, so this opportunity is very exciting and we at JPSD are thrilled for Alicia,” Jan said.
Follow Your Dreams dance competitions have a heavy touring season this year, offering dance competitions all around Australia, the United Kingdom and in many regional towns.
On Saturday, March 9, JPSD senior hip hop dancer, Imogen Spanton, under the tutelage of Shaun Carr, travelled to Morwell to complete in one of the regional competitions in the under 15 hip hop solo open section and after the section was complete, Melbourne based dance adjudicator Nicole Davies, awarded Imogen with the first place trophy.
Imogen is another hard working dancer and Shaun said he was excited for Imogen to have her hard work and commitment be recognised.
“All of JPSD is thrilled for Imogen,” he said.
