Fifteen ladies from the Bairnsdale VIEW Club enjoyed a delicious lunch with 120 ladies from various VIEW clubs in their zone on International Women’s Day, Friday, March 8.
The theme this year is ‘Inspire Inclusion’. When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world.
VIEW clubs are a national women’s volunteer organisation with 14,000 plus members, all supporting the education charity, The Smith Family.
The Smith Family general manager for Victoria, Anton Leschen, spoke about the importance of VIEW clubs.
Members sponsor students, volunteer, raise funds and advocate to improve the life outcomes of disadvantaged Australian children. Investing in a child’s education today will have a long term impact that allows them to thrive in their education and in their life beyond school.
Guest speaker Daniel shared his story of the amazing support he received from the Smith Family through the ‘Learning for Life Program’ which enabled him to achieve the results he required at school to progress to undertaking a double degree at RMIT – a wonderful outcome.
Bairnsdale VIEW Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at Club Eastwood at 10.30am.
If you are interested in finding out more information or joining the club, please feel free to head along.
