Principal and developer of Brookfield Lakes, Daniel Caspar, has said the Brookfield Lakes home and lifestyle precinct that will later abut Eastwood is developing at a rate he thought was unlikely to achieve.
Stages 1-5 have been completed with stages 6-11 to go.
The initial stages involved more than $25 million in infrastructure and included $750,000 for an intersection turnoff from the Great Alpine Road into the estate, a $350,000 playground for the residents and 30 landscaped open spaces.
Part of the success of the development, which will comprise over 400 homes when completed, has been the ability of the developers to pitch blocks of land giving new home buyers the opportunity to purchase at affordable prices.
Mr Caspar said the development had options for all lifestyle choices with block sizes ranging from 400 to 1100 square meters.
The price range of blocks start from around $170-180,000 and move to between $250-270,000 for larger blocks or of position.
The 168 acre development has allocated great areas of parkland that will connect to Eastwood housing development via tracks and pathways – like Eastwood, Brookfield Lakes has a mixed use area set aside for commercial activity in the future.
The new estate has sold 180 blocks to date with 33 homes under construction and 45 homes established.
The coast development in Paynesville has been another project of Mr Caspar’s as well as developing more than 450 apartments in Melbourne.
Local selling agents for Brookfield Lakes, First National King and Heath Bairnsdale, said enquiry for the project had had been consistent and encouraging.
